Vericutting is a process that involves a machine that has vertical blades that penetrate 2-4 inches into the ground. It is another method of dethatching and aerating your lawn. This method is generally used on Bermuda grasses and Zoysia grasses and should be alternated every year with core aerating. Just like core aerating, it is very beneficial to fertilize right after verticutting to boost growth and to reduce possible stress.
